Setting up your motorhome for the first time on a campsite.
Setting up your motorhome or campervan for the first time at a campsite in the UK can be an exciting experience filled with adventure and relaxation. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you make the most of your first campsite setup:

Find Your Pitch
Visit the site office if you have not been allocated a pitch in advance. You will be given a pitch number for your stay. Simply pull the vehicle around to your pitch and think about which way you want to face - take into account your neighbours privacy and the location of the facilities.

Check You're Level
Some sites may be flat enough that you can skip this step, some might be on an incline. You are supplied leveling ramps with your hire so you can adjust the level of one side (or front or back) of the vehicle. This is an important step as even a slight incline can make sleeping and moving around tricky.

Connect To Power/Turn on Gas
If you are on a campsite with electric hook up you should connect the vehicle using the mains cable provided. Connect the campsite end first and then the vehicle. If you are "wild camping" away from mains or at a festival you will need to turn the gas on instead to power your cooker, fridge, heater and hot water.

Turn On Your Systems
Once connected you can then simply turn on the system at the control panel. We have provided instructions for how to do this. What you need on will depend on weather, facilities provided at the site etc. You can turn on lights, water pump if required and also the heating and/or hot water. The only thing you need to check immediately is the fridge to ensure it has switched itself over to the "mains" power setting and is not showing any faults.
