How Motorhome Hire Works
Motorhome hire typically works by renting a motorhome from a company for a specified period of time, usually ranging from a few days to several weeks. The process usually involves the following steps:
Research and Booking
Start by researching the type of motorhome rental and selecting one that best suits your needs in terms of motorhome size, facilities, and budget. Once you have chosen a company (hopefully us!), you can book the motorhome online or over the phone.
Upon booking take a 30% deposit, with the balance due 6 weeks before collection.
Once you have booked your motorhome we advise you to book your campsites too as they can be busy especially during the season. Remember we offer discounted rates on the club sites and discounted membership if you want to join.
Documentation
We don’t take any documentation upon booking to keep it simple.
However as with any vehicle hire you will be required to provide certain documentation such as your driver’s license, proof of address, and possibly additional identification as per the company’s requirements.
We require these when you pay the balance 6 weeks before hire.
Payment
6 weeks before collection you’ll need to make payment for the rental period or pay any balances due which may include any motorhome extras you decide upon.
Further extras can be added anytime up to the collection and even on the day assuming we have stock. Eg tables, chairs, windbreaks, shelters etc.
In the fortnight before hire we will also do a final license check via DVLA and take the holding charge for the damage. At this stage we cna answer any questions you might have.
Collection/Handover
Upon arrival at the rental location, you will receive a walkthrough on all the features of the motorhome and how to operate them including its things such as water supply, electricity hook-ups, waste disposal systems, driving instructions etc.
This year we are introducing videos handovers too which you will receive in advance. So how much handover and additional explanation you need will be up to you.
Most people leave a vehicle with us free of charge and load up on collection, or get a lift to collect and take it home to load up.
Inspection
A walk-through inspection of the vehicle is usually conducted before departure to note any existing damages or issues.
We will ask hirers to check this with us and encourage you to take your own photos and videos to avoid any issues down the line, we also take videos and photos of each vehicle before and after hire to avoid confusion.
Finalise the booking
You will need to sign a contract outlining the terms and conditions of hire including insurance coverage details and also ensure payment has been made in full. This includes the £5 holding deposit on credit card, hirers must ensure this has been done and that a license check has been carried out.
Then Bon Voyage! Enjoy your adventure.

Returning our motorhomes
When returning the motorhome you will have been given a “return by” time. Please let us know in advance if this won’t be met as charges will apply.
Upon arriving back we will welcome you back and hopefully hear about your adventures! It is also a good time to go over anything you want to that worked or didn’t work for you so we can advise if another layout might suit better next time.
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel as when it set off, usually this is full. We will check this and do a short walk around the vehicle checking for any damage.
We may ask you to report any minor snags so we can get these sorted for the next customer. If there are any breakages please report these to.
You can unpack the vehicle and we will sign off the paperwork with you.
We always love to receive your photos on your travels and ideally share these online so please tag us or send them over to the company Whatsapp provided on collection.
